The Order Placement Specialist is a critical member of the Buying Team, responsible for the accurate and timely execution of purchase orders to ensure optimal inventory levels and support merchandising strategies. This role bridges the gap between buying decisions and supply chain execution, ensuring product availability to meet customer demand. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Owns Vendor Purchase Order Placement aligning with department receipt plans and open to buy.
  • Collaborates with Buying and Planning team on weekly ladder planning to review SKU forecasts, promotional plans, inbound purchase orders and priorities.
  • Manages SKU level replenishment parameters and system settings to optimize inventory levels in stores and DCs.
  • Maintains and updates TCS Vendor Site settings.
  • Responsible for approval of purchase orders inbound to all DCs, including PO maintenance and revisions.
  • Collaborates with the planner on store instocks and analysis for assigned categories of merchandise.
  • Manages inventory end-to-end for all Distribution Centers and Stores
  • Supports stores to maintain proper inventory levels, including reviewing ad hoc store requests.
  • Allocates merchandise to stores and analyzes inventory & sales as needed.
  • Supports Buying teams with ad-hoc analysis with various projects and tasks as needed.
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties.

Experience and Skills Required
  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of merchandising, planning or allocation experience preferred
  • Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Knowledge of automated retail replenishment systems in both Vendor-to-Distribution Center and Distribution Center-to-Store
  • Knowledge of merchandise/SKU/sales trends relationships
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including Retail math.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all areas of the business.
  • Works effectively in a team environment
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
